| 1950′s | Alberta L. Bell, her son Volney and his wife Hope move to Meadowlark Ranch. |
| 1959 | Through Alberta’s efforts and th with the assistance of the Congregational Church the first worship service was held on October 18 under the leadership of Rev. Robert Snelling. This first worship service was held in the “Old Red Barn”. The building was shared with the Catholic congregation, now known as St. Marks Catholic Church in San Marcos. It was also an entertainment center with a sign on the building reading: Old Opry House. |
| 1960 | Articles of incorportation were signed by 31 members. |
| 1962 | Rev. Snelling resigns and Rev. James Scherfee is called as pastor. |
| 1963 | The “Old Red Barn” burned to the ground and the congregation moved into the “Ranch House” which was about 300 yards South of our current sancturay. |
| 1964 | In April, the church moves to the Recreation Hall at Lake San Marcos under the name, The United Church of Christ at the Lake. There was a difference in opinion about the legality of the move in July a majority of the congregation return to the “Ranch House” and the Rev. John Spencer is called to sever as an interim pastor of the newly renamed Meadowlark Community Church. It was at this time that the church dropped it’s denominational connection with the United Church of Christ and became and independent congregation. |
| 1965 | The Rev. Brokenshire was called to serve as pastor. |
| 1978 | The Rev. Brokenshire resigns due to failing health and the Rev. David Plank becomes pastor. |
| 1989 | Rev. Plank retires and the Rev. Stan Miller is called as pastor. |
| 1990 | Fund raising efforts started in 1964 are revitalized under Rev. Miller’s leadership and a groundbreaking service was held on October 28. |
| 1992 | Construction is completed on the sanctuary and the first Sunday worship service is held on November 8. |
| 1997 | A second Sunday morning service is started. |
| 1998 | Denise Triffo, Director of Children’s Ministries called to serve. |
| 1999 | Art Baker, Director of Music called to serve. |
| 2000 | Rev. Miller retires. Dr. Talley fills the pulpit until the Rev. Jake Duran is called to serve as interim pastor. |
| 2001 | The Rev. Dr. Dave Shaw is called to serve as pastor. |
| 2002 | Rev. Jake Duran called to serve as Pastor of Youth and Visitation. Back parking lot paved. |
| 2003 | Unattached 2.8 acres sold. Building plans for Ministry Center begun. |
| 2005 | Mitch Goldenberg called to serve as Youth Pastor. Art Baker retires. |
| 2007 | The Ministry Center is completed an dedicated. Pastor Jake Duran retires. The Rev. Dr. Jim Brown called to serve as Pastor of Worship and Music / Associate Pastor. Mitch Goldenberg moves out of state. |
| 2008 | Eric Ortega called as College and High School Youth Director. Saturday night youth worship service started. Good Shepherd Anglican Church is invited to share part of our facilities. |
| 2010 | Denise Triffo retires as Children’s Director and Eric Ortega moves out of state. Cathrine Osthimer is called as the Director of Family Ministries. A Board of Elders is established. A single combined Worship Service is initiated. |
| 2011 | Meadowlark Christian Academy, a hybrid Christian High School is started at our church site. |
